Thai Country Club
This striking tournament-ready course situated between Bangkok and Pattaya on the Bangna-Trad Highway is run by Peninsula Hotels. Both the course and level of service are excellent at the Thai Country Club, which has hosted wins by such esteemed players as Tiger Woods.
Players can enjoy manicured fairways and undulating greens; all holes are really well turned out, with water and palm trees being a prominent theme. The course measures 7,157 yards, with the professional stroke average at 3.38. Thai Country Club has been underway since the 1990s and, most notably, has hosted the likes of the Asian Honda Classic and the Volvo Masters.
The award-winning clubhouse is highly rated and among the best ranked in Asia, surrounded as it is by water and situated between the first tee and 18th green. Facilities are excellent, with top class changing rooms and a useful pro shop that comes with brand apparel for both sexes.
There is also a spa with treatment rooms and sauna on site, along with a grass driving range. The food at the clubhouse restaurant is very tasty and includes popular Western and Thai dishes. Thai Country Club is open to non-members, but be aware that it is closed on Mondays.
