Springfield Royal Country Club
As one of the best rated golf courses in the Hua Hin area, the Springfield Royal Country Club will not disappoint, with its wide fairways, idyllic island greens and a lofty clubhouse. Designed by Jack Nicklaus in the 1990s, the 27-hole Springfield is good for visitors to both Hua Hin and Cha Am and is reachable via a lovely drive into the country.
The main 18-holer of this championship-rated course is a little over 7,000 yards, but is good for all levels of golfer. There are several teeing options, including the dreaded black, and a selection of water hazards on most holes.
Despite the generous fairways, the need for accuracy at the Springfield Royal Country Club is a must, since there are numerous hillocks and strategically placed bunkers here. The signature on this course is the stunning 18th, with its island green, while the extra nine holes (built in 2005) are courtesy of Lee Schmidt and Brain Curley and are equally as challenging.
The opulent clubhouse of the Springfield Royal Country Club is the perfect retreat from 30-plus degree heat and sits up over the course. Also on site are a golf school, spa and swimming pool and a great eatery.
