Laem Chabang International Country Club
Pockmarked by numerous water features, the championship Laem Chabang International Country Club is touted as one of the best in the country and lies around 30 minutes from Pattaya. This Jack Nicklaus-inspired course comes with 27 holes over hundreds of acres incorporating mountains, valleys and jungle through its three, nine-hole courses which are appropriately named.
Harking back to 1995, the Mountain (hilly), Valley (foothills) and Lake (meandering stream) courses are all around 3,500 yards, par-36 and offer something different to the discerning golfer. Each comes with natural hazards, eye-watering natural formations and elevated tees and greens with generous bunkers.
There is also a good clubhouse at Laem Chabang International Country Club, with a driving range, golf school, easy changing room facilities and a popular onsite restaurant. Golfers can visit by day or opt to stay at the nearby hotel, which is linked to the club by a handy bridge.
There are 40 rooms available at the hotel, equipped with satellite TV, safety deposit boxes, mini-bars and, most importantly, a balcony overlooking the course. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to and from Pattaya for golfers as many visitors tend to choose to stay at a hotel near the beach.
