Kirimaya Golf Resort and Spa
Situated just two hours from Bangkok on the edge of Thailand’s famous Khao Yai National Park is Kirimaya Golf Resort and Spa. This stunning 18-hole course, formerly known as Country Club Khao Yai, offers a fine game of golf in natural surrounds, fresh air and high-end accommodation with enviable spa facilities.
The 2004 Jack Nicklaus course is surrounded by wetlands and jungle and cuts a swathe through rolling landscapes with the odd watery hazard. The rough can be pretty unforgiving at Kirimaya Resort so it pays to go with caution off the tee. A choice of tees is available and there are several sublime holes, of which the beautiful 16th is the signature.
The clubhouse at Kirimaya is elegantly designed and incorporated into the resort, a five-star property and the most luxurious in the Khao Yai National Park area. Accommodation is top notch and includes villas with butler service. Hospitality and food are both excellent and there is a luxury spa with Maya-style massage and swimming pool.
Khao Yai National Park itself is a UNESCO World Heritage site and well worth a visit in its own right. Kirimaya Golf Resort and Spa is right on the periphery and the resort can organise walking and wildlife tours, together with vineyard tours and other activities.
