Black Mountain Golf Club

Black Mountain Golf Club 1

A fairly recent addition to the world golfing scene (2007), the Phil Ryan-designed Black Mountain Golf Club, near Hua Hin, has hosted many big golfing events, including the Asian and European PGA and the Thailand Classic.

It was also named by Golf Digest as one of the best courses outside the US, due to its fabulous layout and setting amid the black granite mountains of Hua Hin.

Paspalum fairways flanked by hills and big skies, together with sweeping bunkers and water hazards, typify the striking Black Mountain Golf Club. This natural-looking course can be played by most levels despite its high status, however, and the signature 11th island green is a real gem.

As with most clubs of this calibre, Black Mountain has classy practice areas, to including a grass driving range. The clubhouse is as good as it gets, with sweeping views over the course and one of the best pro shops in Thailand. The changing facilities are equally decent, plus there is a spa here and a highly rated restaurant that produces popular Thai and Western dishes.

In addition to the main 18-hole golf course at Black Mountain Golf Club is a par-3 nine-hole course. The Black Mountain Water Park is also nearby and is a popular family attraction in the Hua Hin area year round.
